Soccer Recap: Indio Find Success

It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Indio ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs, sneaking past 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Rajahs were the better team in the second half.

Brayan Saguilan and Angel Aldrete scored both of Indio's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Indio pushed their record up to 10-11-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 Twentynine Palms and 0-8 Yucca Valley (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 18.9% over those games). As for Coachella Valley, they moved to 8-6-1 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Indio wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 9-0 win against Twentynine Palms on the 24th. As for Coachella Valley, they will square off against Yucca Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
