Green Valley faced Spring Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Gators fell 2-0 to the Grizzlies. The Gators' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Their offense was headlined by Gio Ortega and Alexis Delzer, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Clara Conrado and her seven assists. Finally, Kaitlyn Stanek kept Green Valley's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Mackenzie Means, who had nine digs and six assists. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Green Valley's loss dropped their record down to 22-10. As for Spring Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Spring Valley beat Green Valley by a score of 2-1 later that day.
