Recap: Goldwater Bulldogs vs. Peoria Panthers
The Goldwater Bulldogs suffered their biggest loss since December 14, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Peoria 56-18. Goldwater has not had much luck with Peoria recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Peoria's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cieraka Lynch led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Lynch scored 15 or more points. Harmony Re was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Goldwater's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for Peoria, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goldwater will take on Estrella Foothills at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Estrella Foothills' defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so Goldwater's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Peoria, they will be playing at home against Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
