Softball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is South Pontotoc's Third in Last Four Outings

South Pontotoc had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Houston Hilltoppers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Saturday. Considering the Cougars have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

South Pontotoc has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Houston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-21-1 record this season.

South Pontotoc didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-1 defeat against Itawamba Agricultural on the 24th. Houston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
