Basketball Game Preview: Bellingham Bayhawks vs. Mt. Baker Mountaineers + How To Watch

The Bellingham Bayhawks will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge the Mt. Baker Mountaineers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Wednesday, Bellingham was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 72-67 to Blaine. The loss put an end to the Bayhawks' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mt. Baker, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Friday Harbor with a sharp 63-38 win on Wednesday. The Mountaineers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 7, 2024 (when they won 74-49).

The victory got Mt. Baker back to even at 1-1. As for Bellingham, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1-1.

Bellingham didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Mt. Baker when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 56-51 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bayhawks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
