Preview: East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers vs. Westlake Academy Blacksmiths
The East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Westlake Academy Blacksmiths at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in East Texas Homeschool Sports' favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
East Texas Homeschool Sports can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fort Worth THESA 76-40 on the road. Given East Texas Homeschool Sports' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Fort Worth THESA is ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Connor Pendergast went supernova for East Texas Homeschool Sports, rushing for 183 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 36 receiving yards. Gracyn Trimble was another key contributor, gaining 141 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Westlake Academy entered their tilt with Texas Wind with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Westlake Academy took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 52-6 win over Texas Wind. With Westlake Academy ahead 52-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Andrew Hoang had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 100 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. Nicolas Sansone got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Their wins bumped East Texas Homeschool Sports to 6-1 and Westlake Academy to 4-3.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. East Texas Homeschool Sports commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 6.5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Westlake Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
