Baseball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Takes Down Ranked Marist

Trinity Christian Academy is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Marist. The Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors skirted past the Marist War Eagles 6-4. That's two games straight that the Conquerors have won by exactly two runs.

Tyler Ellis made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jordan Martinez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Parker Loew also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Trinity Christian Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win (which was Trinity Christian Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs across that stretch. As for Marist, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Coming up, Trinity Christian Academy will head out to take on IMG Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (IMG Academy 2.5, Trinity Christian Academy 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Marist, they will challenge Maclay at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
