Glenbard North faced Wheaton North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 4-1. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Avery Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, Gia Whelan was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tru Medina, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Glenbard North pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Wheaton North, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-8.

Coming up, Glenbard North will be playing at home against Schaumburg at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheaton North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
