Baseball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Collierville, Trinity Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Dyersburg Trojans. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Max Richardson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Trinity Christian Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Atwood, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Cason White was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Trinity Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Dyersburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Trinity Christian Academy will head out to take on Briarcrest Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Briarcrest Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Trinity Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dyersburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Halls at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
