Basketball Game Preview: Truman Patriots vs. Raytown Bluejays

Truman hasn't had much luck against Raytown recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Truman Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Raytown Bluejays at 5:30 p.m. Truman knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Raytown likes a good challenge.

Truman is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Ruskin 84-50. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Raytown was able to grind out a solid victory over Chrisman on Tuesday, taking the game 77-65. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bluejays.

Raytown's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Truman, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
