Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Warren Central

Warren Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Mt. Vernon Marauders by a score of 49-42. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Marauders, too.

Warren Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Denell Jacobs out in front who posted 15 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. The matchup was Jacobs' third in a row with at least ten points. Denaijah Jacobs was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Several Marauders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabby Thomas, who earned 14 points. Thomas is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addison Bucksot, who made all 6 shots she took for 12 points and six rebounds.

Warren Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Mt. Vernon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5.
