Basketball Game Preview: Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs vs. Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles

The Addenbrooke Classical Academy Mustangs will face off against the Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rocky Mountain Lutheran took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Addenbrooke Classical Academy, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Addenbrooke Classical Academy turned things around against Nederland on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 65-20. That looming 65-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mustangs yet this season.

Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Briggsdale. The Eagles were up 31-15 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Addenbrooke Classical Academy will have to keep a close watch on Gavin Borchardt and Abraham Rivas, a pair of players who had a big impact on Rocky Mountain Lutheran's prior game. Borchardt dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 boards, while Rivas posted 15 points and eight rebounds. Borchardt has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Blake Harris, who scored eight points and seven boards.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Addenbrooke Classical Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.
