Baseball Recap: Highland Gets the Win

Highland's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Burroughs Burros. With that victory, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Nick Gonzales, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Highland: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Hudson Harding also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The win got Highland back to even at 3-3. As for Burroughs, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 6-1 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highland will host Quartz Hill at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Burroughs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Foothill at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Burroughs is facing Foothill at the right time seeing as Foothill is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
