Baseball Recap: Harmon Gets the Win

Harmon took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Washington, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Wildcats on Tuesday. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 13-1 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Jesus Portillo Carrillo looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chad Taylor, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Taylor is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Jackson Williams was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Harmon now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Washington, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Harmon will take on East at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Washington, they will challenge Sumner Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
