Basketball Game Preview: Twin Lakes Indians vs. Maconaquah Braves

The Twin Lakes Indians will challenge the Maconaquah Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Twin Lakes will be strutting in after a win while Maconaquah will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Twin Lakes turned things around against Winamac on Thursday. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 46-37.

Twin Lakes found their leader in freshman Addyson Hines, who posted 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Hines has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Oliver, who scored 12 points and six boards.

Twin Lakes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Maconaquah was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 47-42 to Lewis Cass.

Twin Lakes will need focus on slowing down Delaney Betzner, one of several Maconaquah players who made an impact when they last played. She had 11 points. Another player making a difference was Addie Maiben, who put up nine points.

Maconaquah's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Twin Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 6-17.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Twin Lakes has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 31.4 boards per game.
