Baseball Recap: Wagoner Comes Up Short

Wagoner entered their game against Kansas on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Wagoner got a good showing from Caleb Camp, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Wagoner saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kale Charboneau, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Charboneau snagged this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Wagoner and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Kansas, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wagoner will face off against Muskogee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kansas, they will head out to face off against Sequoyah at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
