Soccer Recap: Kearney Beats Grand Island for Their Seventh Straight Victory

Kearney took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Grand Island, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bearcats skirted past the Islanders 2-1. That's two games straight that Kearney have won by just one goal.

Gordy Garner and Kaden Slaymaker scored both of Kearney's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

The win was the seventh in a row for Kearney, bringing their record up to 8-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those seven games. As for Grand Island, they dropped their record down to 5-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
