Volleyball Recap: Marshall Eagles vs. Bishop Amat Lancers
After flying high against Glendale Adventist on Monday, Marshall came back down to earth. The Eagles came up short against the Bishop Amat Lancers on Wednesday, falling 3-0.
The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20, 25-10.
Naomi Taylor paced Marshall's offense, picking up six kills. Taylor got some help from Ashley Dominguez and her 11 assists. Dominguez also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Eunice Manik, racking up two apiece.
Bishop Amat got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sanai Severloh out in front who had 11 kills, five aces, and one block. Those five aces gave Severloh a new career-high. Sophia Silva was another key player, getting six kills, five aces, and four digs.
Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Bishop Amat, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Marshall wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Ramona Convent on the 22nd. As for Bishop Amat, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on the 21st.
