Soccer Recap: Wakeland Takes a Loss

Wakeland entered their contest against Highland Park on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wakeland Wolverines fell just short of the Highland Park Scots by a score of 2-1. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Wolverines couldn't quite close it out.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wakeland fell to 14-1. As for Highland Park, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Wakeland and Highland Park should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Wakeland (ranked fifth) will meet Creekview (ranked 561st) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wakeland will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Similarly, Highland Park will take on The Colony at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday up 689 places (39 vs. 728).
