Baseball Recap: Tonopah Wins Going Away Against Beaver Dam

Tonopah got themselves on the board against Beaver Dam on Saturday, but Beaver Dam never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Diamondback. The Muckers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Charlie Finn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Mitchell Miller was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 14 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brekken Miller, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Tonopah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaver Dam only posted an OBP of .350.

The win made it two in a row for Tonopah and bumps their season record up to 10-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Beaver Dam, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Tonopah will square off against Indian Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Beaver Dam, they will be playing at home against Mountain View Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
