Carmel had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Monterey Dores. This was a revenge game for the Padres: when they faced off against the Dores back in April, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.
While Carmel won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23, 25-20.
Tristan Henderson paced Carmel's offense, picking up 11 kills. Henderson got some help from Zack Speakman and his 35 assists. Speakman was also a major player on defense: he and Nate Campbell shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.
Carmel's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-11. As for Monterey, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-13.
