Pleasant Ridge and Horton pushed the score to 64-61 the last time they played Horton, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Rams came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 37-25. For the Rams, this counts as revenge for the 64-61 victory the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Pleasant Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Kime out in front who posted six points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Kime a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Nathan Layton, who had 12 points and six rebounds.

Pleasant Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Pleasant Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Horton, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Pleasant Ridge will head out to square off against Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Horton, they will venture away from home to challenge Doniphan West on Tuesday.
