Basketball Recap: Atlantic Christian Piles Up the Points Against Varsity Opponent

Atlantic Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past Varsity Opponent, posting a 76-31 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 70-43 on Monday.

Atlantic Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caden Kim, who went 10-for-20 en route to 23 points and five rebounds. Kim is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Costello, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 assists.

Atlantic Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in three consecutive matchups.

Atlantic Christian's record is now 3-1.

Coming up, Atlantic Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Abundant Life Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give the Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-49 loss against St. Mary's School for the Deaf on the 9th.
