Baseball Game Preview: Jamestown Eagles vs. Woodgrove Wolverines

The Jamestown Eagles will challenge the Woodgrove Wolverines at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Jamestown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out King George 4-3. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

William Morris made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other pitching news, Grant Nelson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Morris wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Owen Williams, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Woodgrove had just enough and edged out James Wood 2-1 on Tuesday.

Jamestown's record is now 17-8. As for Woodgrove, their record now sits at 9-4.
