After a string of three wins, California Lutheran's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the United Christian Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Monday.

California Lutheran started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-23, 25-13, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Cailin Schroeder and Sofiia Klochkova, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Sophia Ponce and her 11 assists. Schroeder was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

California Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for United Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 12-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

California Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Bethel Christian on the 10th. As for United Christian Academy, they will take on La Sierra Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
