Basketball Game Preview: Ocosta Wildcats vs. Lake Quinault Elks + How To Watch

Ocosta is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will be playing at home against the Lake Quinault Elks at 7:30 p.m. Ocosta is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

On Saturday, Ocosta came up short against Pe Ell and fell 52-41.

Despite the defeat, Ocosta saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sonny Beard dropped a double-double with 20 points and 24 boards. That was a full 48.8% of the Wildcats' points, marking the third time in a row Beard has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan White, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, Lake Quinault had to suffer through a 64-30 loss at the hands of Quilcene.

Lake Quinault's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ocosta, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything came up roses for Ocosta against Lake Quinault when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 64-30 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Elks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
