Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for New Hope

New Hope barely beat West Point the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The New Hope Trojans blew past the West Point Green Wave 8-2 on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three games in a row.

Kaselyn Harcrow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tatum McBride, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedi Martin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

New Hope's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for West Point, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.

New Hope will take on Grenada at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Grenada's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so New Hope's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for West Point, they will welcome French Camp Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
