Baseball Recap: Everett Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Everett's offense. They fell just short of the Lynn English Bulldogs by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

Derek Soper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Everett has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Lynn English, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Everett is set to square off against their familiar foe Malden at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lynn English will challenge rival Revere at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
