Recap: West Henderson Falcons vs. Hickory Red Tornadoes

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the West Henderson Falcons, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 28-16 to the Red Tornadoes on Friday. West Henderson's loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, West Henderson had strong showings from Truitt Manuel, who gained 173 total yards and a touchdown, and Tayman Howell, who picked up 69 receiving yards and a touchdown. Manuel was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards.

Even if they lost, West Henderson's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Hickory's QB won't forget Tyler Nash anytime soon given Nash sacked him twice.

Hickory's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Lackey led the charge by rushing for 93 yards and a touchdown.

West Henderson's defeat dropped their record down to 13-1. As for Hickory, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0.

West Henderson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hickory has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Dudley at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Dudley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 704 points over their last 13 games.
