Preview: Platt vs. Maloney
This week, Maloney (8-1) faces off against Platt (4-5) on Thursday at 10:30 AM. Maloney is cruising in on a eight-game winning streak while Platt is stumbling off of three losses in a row.
Maloney kept its home record unblemished after another positive outing on its own turf. It came out on top in a nail-biter against Conard two weeks ago, sneaking past 12 - 10. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Maloney after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.
Meanwhile, the result of Platt's previous contest was disheartening but, based on MaxPreps state rankings, not too surprising. It was crushed by Middletown 51 - 20 two weeks ago. The team got a solid performance out of sophomore Sean Bell, jr (he rushed for 99 yards and one touchdown); unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
The last time they met, Platt hopped past Maloney 38 - 22. Will Platt come out on top again? We'll soon find out.
