Softball Recap: Gatlinburg-Pittman Comes Up Short

Gatlinburg-Pittman dropped their record down to 10-11 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals, falling 10-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Royals this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-0 loss back in April.

Ashlynn Kunkle was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sadie Moore, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-13-1 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

On Eagleton College & Career Academy's side, Kyla Long spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. Long has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Graci Fenstemaker, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Gatlinburg-Pittman nor Eagleton College & Career Academy have any future games scheduled.
