Basketball Recap: Sperry Takes a Loss

Sperry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Wesleyan Christian Mustangs, falling 61-35. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 461st, while the Mustangs are ranked 164th).

Sperry's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Wesleyan Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

Sperry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 69-41 loss against Pawnee on the 24th. Wesleyan Christian has also already played their next contest, a 51-40 defeat against Davenport on the 24th.
