Baseball Recap: Wadley Comes Up Short

If Wadley was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Central of Coosa County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wadley Bulldogs came up short against the Randolph County Tigers on Monday, falling 18-7. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Wadley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Wilkerson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another was Trevon Reynolds, who went a perfect1-for-1 with one triple and one run.

Wadley's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Wadley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 19-7 defeat against Dadeville on the 18th. As for Randolph County, they have also already played their next game, a 13-1 loss against Cleburne County on the 18th.
