Basketball Recap: Heritage's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Heritage entered their tilt with Wake Forest on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Wake Forest Cougars by a score of 38-25. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 36-22 last Wednesday.

Despite the defeat, Wake Forest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taylor McCartney went 5 for 10 en route to 15 points. McCartney continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

The victory got Heritage back to even at 10-10. As for Wake Forest, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Heritage and Wake Forest could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Heritage will face off against Knightdale at 5:30 p.m. on Friday down 127 places (212 vs. 85). Similarly, Wake Forest (ranked 292nd) will meet Wakefield (ranked 14th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
