Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sandy Creek walked away with it. They never let the Fabius Pompey Falcons get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Comets have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win (which was Sandy Creek's third in a row) raised their record to 16-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Fabius Pompey, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-8-1 record.

Coming up, Sandy Creek will take on Port Byron at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Comets 1.9, the Panthers 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Fabius Pompey does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
