Basketball Recap: Clarkson/Leigh Takes Down Wakefield in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Clarkson/Leigh rose to the challenge on Monday. They blew past the Wakefield Trojans 52-11. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Trojans are ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clarkson/Leigh is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Wakefield, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
