Basketball Recap: Oakwood Academy Skates Past Georgia-Cumberland Academy with Ease

After only 24 points in their last match, Oakwood Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against Georgia-Cumberland Academy on Saturday. The Oakwood Academy Mustangs really took it to the Georgia-Cumberland Academy Jaguars for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-16 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-3.

Oakwood Academy was led to victory by Bruklyn Dublin and Charity Jarman. Dublin almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine steals, while Jarman went 8 of 10 on her way to 18 points along with six boards and six steals. Dublin has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Joanna Caldwell was another key player, going 6 for 8 en route to 12 points.

Oakwood Academy pushed their record up to 11-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Georgia-Cumberland Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coincidentally, Oakwood Academy and Georgia-Cumberland Academy will both be playing Collegedale Academy the next time they take the court.
