Game recap: Concord High School Football Team bests McMichael

CONCORD, N.C. - Concord (N.C.) grabbed the lead when B.J. Beecher thew a touchdown to Zoshua Heilig with 5:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat McMichael (Mayodan, N.C.) 51-38 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured six lead swaps.

The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at 24. The Spiders took the lead for good on a Beecher touchdown pass to Heilig in the fourth quarter.

Concord's standout player in the win was Terry Cassel. The sophomore running back ran for four touchdowns. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.

Jackson Harte played well for the Phoenix. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.

The loss comes after McMichael defeated Eastern Guilford 32-13 last week.
