Basketball Recap: Sulphur Takes a Loss

Sulphur lost against Lafayette back in January of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sulphur Golden Tors were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the Lafayette Lions. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Golden Tors came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Lions are ranked 92nd).

Sulphur's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 30-7. As for Lafayette, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-15.

As of now, neither Sulphur nor Lafayette have any future games scheduled.
