Softball Recap: Fillmore Central/Lanesboro Comes Up Short

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell 8-5 to the Lewiston-Altura Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in April.

Hailey Erickson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Lewiston-Altura, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Fillmore Central/Lanesboro and Lewiston-Altura could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Falcons will square off against Cotter at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (290 vs. 120). Meanwhile, Lewiston-Altura (ranked 132nd) will meet La Crescent (ranked 33rd) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
