Football Game Preview: Baylor Red Raiders vs. McCallie Blue Tornado

Baylor is 2-8 against McCallie since October of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Red Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Blue Tornado at 7:45 p.m. Baylor knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully McCallie likes a good challenge.

Baylor is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Tennessee's top teams: Montgomery Bell Academy, who was ranked 17th at the time (Baylor was ranked first). The Red Raiders took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 45-18 victory over the Big Red. The win continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their matchups with the Big Red: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, McCallie gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 21-18 victory over Heidelberg.

Baylor better keep an eye on Keeyshawn Schneider Tabuteau. He was instrumental in McCallie's win, picking up 131 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Schneider Tabuteau showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 51 yards.

Baylor's record now sits at 5-0. As for McCallie, their record is now 5-1.

Baylor came up short against McCallie when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 27-21. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
