Softball Recap: Ludlowe Takes a Loss

Ludlowe had lost five straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 5-8 to make it six. They fell just short of the Ridgefield Tigers by a score of 2-0. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

As for Ridgefield, the victory got them back to even at 6-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

For Ridgefield's part, not much got past Caitlin McGratty, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Ludlowe off the board. McGratty has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Ridgefield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Cappiello, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Ludlowe wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-2 loss against Warde on the 7th. As for Ridgefield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-2 win against Wilton on the 7th.
