Football Recap: Batesville Gets the Win

Batesville's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Paragould Rams by a score of 24-16. The Pioneers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Batesville can attribute much of their success to Cole Bentz, who rushed for 52 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 89 yards and one TD. Those 52 rushing yards gave Bentz a new career-high. Caleb Murrah helped out on the ground, rushing for 128 yards.

Batesville's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Paragould, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Batesville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 31-14 loss against Harding Academy on the 10th. As for Paragould, they have also already played their next matchup, a 29-6 defeat against Nettleton on the 10th.
