League recap: Jonesboro-Hodge stuns Ferriday in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Jonesboro-Hodge, who took down 184th ranked Ferriday, 22-16.

Sterlington took down Lakeside 46-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Taylor Lockwood ran for 191 yards in the win.

The Panthers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Devin Murphy threw for 33 yards and Casey Sutton had 24 yards receiving. Alex Edwards helped Sterlington's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.

5-foot-10 quarterback A.J. Bruce of Lake Providence is the league leader in passing yards this season with 352. He has also thrown five touchdowns. On the ground, Sterlington's Lockwood has rushed for 288 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Sutton. The Sterlington star has 11 catches for 153 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Tigers take on the Warriors. Jonesboro-Hodge is currently in fourth, while Lakeside is in second.

There should be lots of points scored when Mike Collins' team and the Panthers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Panthers comes in having scored 116 this season, while Lake Providence has scored 94. Sterlington scored 46 points last week as it topped Joey Pesses' team.

The Panthers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on the Warriors. Lockwood in the win.
