While Odessa ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-22.

Odessa has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-19 record this season. As for Midland, their victory bumped their record up to 31-8.
