Softball Recap: Bartlett Golden Bears vs. Service Cougars

Bartlett extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 1-4 in the process. They lost 13-5 to the Service Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

As for Service, they now have a winning record of 4-3. Considering they have won three matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Service's part, McKinley Fuller was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Fuller has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cheyenne Henry was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aryanna Sparks, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Bartlett will be taking part in a tournament against Kenai Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Service, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Dimond at 5:45 p.m.
