Basketball Game Preview: Quincy Orioles vs. Bronson Vikings

Quincy hasn't had much luck against Bronson recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Quincy Orioles will welcome the Bronson Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Quincy comes in on three and Bronson on eight.

Quincy is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Maple Valley: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Quincy blew Maple Valley out of the water with a 53-21 final score. Given the Orioles' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Lions are ranked 636th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kendyl Musielewicz and Deziray Skirka were among the main playmakers for Quincy as the former went 6 of 15 on her way to 24 points and six rebounds and the latter went 5 for 9 to rack up 12 points along with eight boards and six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Musielewicz has scored at least a third of Quincy's points. Miley Poindexter was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bronson). They claimed a resounding 70-35 win over Springport. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

Bronson pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points over those games. As for Quincy, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
