Volleyball Recap: Claire Houser Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Gatlinburg-Pittman

There's no place like home for Pigeon Forge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-16, 25-20.

Pigeon Forge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Claire Houser led the charge by getting 13 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylinn Ginter, who had 26 assists.

They weren't the only good server: Pigeon Forge was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

The victory got Pigeon Forge back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pigeon Forge will host Knoxville A at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Washburn at 5:30 p.m.
