Softball Recap: Emerald Takes a Loss

If Emerald was riding high fresh off their 18-1 takedown of Brashier Middle College Charter on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings lost 26-8 to the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans on Thursday.

Paydyn Stafford was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of KJ Scott, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Emerald's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Emerald has already played their next matchup (against Calhoun Falls Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-4 victory against Williston-Elko on the 10th.
