Shepherd was the 5-2 winner over Cleveland when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Shepherd Pirates lost 10-1 to the Cleveland Indians on Saturday. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Shepherd saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Hobgood, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Shepherd's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Cleveland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shepherd will be taking part in a tournament against Sterling at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cleveland, they will head out to take on Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
